Culinary Journey of India

Delhi, India’s capital city is where we will embark on this culinary trip as this city is one of the integral parts of this sojourn. A grand reception at the airport awaits you, followed by checking into the comforts of the hotel where you can refresh before venturing out for the much awaited gastronomical trip to the old Delhi. Be ready to be assailed by the aromas and sights of delicacies that capture yours minds as you step into this part of the city. Apart from street food, there are plenty of restaurants that offer multi cuisines, local bazaar with street vendors selling Indian spices and a plethora of ethnic goods, lively shops, bargains, are in the offering. Our representatives (fluent in English) will give you an impression of the indigenous by treating you to the local food for lunch followed by a treat of Indian hospitality at a local home. Your day will conclude with a dinner at a haveli which is an ethnic manor maintained by family living there for generations.

Day 2 calls for a lavish breakfast, followed by an hour’s travel to another city- Amritsar by flight or by Train. Your arrival and check-in the hotel will be supervised by our representatives who will set you free to chill out for the day. The local market and sightseeing would be done in the second half of the day so as to avoid the scorching heat. Local delicacies like paneer bhurji, lassi, jalebisand so on to name a few would be available to satiate your palate.

The day will begin with sumptuous breakfast followed by a tour of the Golden temple. This religious hub of this city is famous for its unique architecture which has four entrances in the four directions and is known to be made of pure gold. Its unparalleled beauty comprises of the magnificent sanctum, a pool of holy water surrounded by austere marble pathways. The temple is open to one and all and so is its community kitchen which is known to serve food in the form of Prasad. Like Delhi even Amritsar streets are full of lip smacking delicacies, dishes like kulchas and gudkahalwa is something to vie for. A visit to the farm, demo of making tandoori rotis, Wagah border visit and other sightseeing are also in the offering. Tired from the exiting excursion, return to the hotel for a night halt is next.

The fourth day begins with the similar pattern of breakfast, after which you will board a connecting flight to Jaipur. Reception and check in the hotel will be completed by our representatives, followed by a Dinner at a traditional Royal Rajasthani Residence.
Return to the hotel for a night stay.

You will get a detailed tour of this pink city which is popular for its ethnicity. The gourmet here is spicy and highly flavoured. Apart from Rajasthanifood, this city has a host of forts and mansions that are a must see, so we can customize the food trips and simultaneously arrange the sightseeing as well. Amer fort visit in the morning followed by ChowkkiDhani visit in the evening would be ideal. ChowkkiDhania an experience by itself as it is a based on the Rajasthani culture. It is a must see place which involves a lot of merry making in form of folk music and dance, followed by exotic Rajasthani food. The place is opened till late in the night so one can head to their hotels once they are ready to retire.

A visit of Agra after a quick breakfast is on the cards for the 6th day. It is a 4and a half hour journey by car. After check-in the hotel ,you can freshen up and leave for the oldest markets called kinari bazaar. Shopping here will give you souvenirs, followed by a visit to the jama masjid and a famous shiva temple Mankameshwer. The evening would be booked for a visit to the famous Taj Mahal that is declared as the world heritage site. A visit to a local family and dinner with them will give you a feel of the Indian customs and traditions, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel.

On the seventh day, it is an early start of the day where you would set off for Lucknow in a train at 5:50 am. You will reach Lucknow in a few hours and after the usual check in, you can take the day off for resting and reenergising. In the evening, you will be taken to Coquina for an elite cookery class with a highly qualified cook who would open out the secrets of Awadhi cooking. After a sumptuous home cooked Awadhi dinner, you can go back to the hotel for a night halt..

On day 09, a quick tour of Lucknow post breakfast followed by a lunch in The Royal Café for fusion food. A glimpse into the local Awadhi culture through a talk by Nawab Sahib is there for post lunch followed by a visit to Oudhyana in the evening.30kms away is Mahilabad where in you will get to see the traditional cooking with the help of an experienced guide. Post dinner return to the hotel for a night stay.

Post breakfast on the tenth day you head for Varanasi ,where you check in at the hotel and proceed to take a tour of the Dashashwamedhghats where you can witness live arti ceremony. The lighting of lamps along side prayers is a traditional way of offering the prayers. Dinner is arranged at a local family followed by a night stay.

The 11 day begins with an early morning boat ride (accompanied by sitar player) on the River Ganges at sunrise. This is followed by lavish spread of breakfast. Lunch along with shopping at kachuriwaligulli to gorge on the delaciciesin the form of street food. A visit to the weaver’s area is on the agenda towards the evening where you get to see and buy pure silk. Dinner at a Brahimin’s home is yet another treat. Night stay at the hotel
